Pearson Online Math Information for Parents Page

Pearson Online Math Home Page- The new math program adopted by the district starting this year has a very comprehensive online component.  It includes teaching tools and various activities for students to review and practice math.  Parents are invited to click the link above to see what is available and sit down with their children and see what they are doing in math.  Your involvement can encourage your child to use this system at home to review the math s/he has been learning at school.  Each student has a login which allows him/her to get into the system.  Ask your child about it and see this great math resource for yourself.

Student home page- When students log in, a home page appears from which students and parents can access the following resources.  Click the links below to see more information:

     My Assignments- assignments that teachers have made to help each student practice math that they need to work on.  These assignments are mini-lessons the students can do at home on the computer and worksheets they can print out at home.

     Take It to the Net- Various online tools for review and practice of math concepts.

    Scott-Foresman Math Textbook- the entire math book is online so that students can get to any page in the book from their home computer.

     From My Teacher- Teacher can leave notes to students for the students to read at home.

     Parents Link- Parents can click here to see how their child is doing with online assessments and assignments.

On the Take It to the Net page, there is a link for More Practice.  Clicking on one of the links yields a page of computer code.  To actually use the More Practice you must download Quiz Show Lite, a really fun math review in game show format, in which students can race the clock or beat the computer to answer math questions.  It comes complete with a smart-aleck announcer to congratulate or harrass the players. If you click the link, Quiz Show Lite Download, you can download the game in either PC or Mac version.  This will install a folder on your computer called Mindpoint which contains an icon to launch the game. Once you have the Mindpoint folder, you can then insert the question sets into the Quiz Show folder.  Click here to download the question sets.  Unzip the download and drag the folder into the Quiz Show folder in the Mindpoint folder.  Most of Quiz show is self-explanatory, but click here to see a page explaning how to access the questions.
